Police arrest 16-year-old following foot chase while search continues for others
BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore detectives are still searching for five suspects connected to the attempted murder of a teenager, even after arresting a 16-year-old following a foot chase.
The Baltimore Police Department announced the arrest in connection with the July 22 shooting of a 16-year-old boy in the 5900 block of Bowleys Lane.
Officers responded to the scene at about 7:17 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.
The teenager was taken to a nearby hospital, where police said he remains in critical condition.
Investigators identified a 16-year-old male as one of the suspects in the shooting.
On July 29, officers located the suspect in the 3400 block of Noble Street. Following a brief foot chase, the teen was taken into custody and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility.
Police said the suspect has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.
The investigation remains active, and detectives are continuing to search for five additional suspects believed to have been involved in the attempted murder.
