Police launched a homicide investigation after a welfare check turned deadly
BALTIMORE, Md. — A welfare check in East Baltimore ended with the discovery of a man who had been fatally shot, prompting a homicide investigation.
Officers responded at approximately 2:33 p.m. Friday to the rear of the 900 block of East 20th Street to check on the well-being of an individual.
When officers arrived, they found an unidentified adult man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
The man’s identity has not been released.
Baltimore Police homicide detectives are investigating the shooting and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
