Millenium Smoke and News sells one of New York’s five third-prize winners
MANHATTAN, NY – Someone bought a Powerball ticket along one of Manhattan’s best-known thoroughfares and walked away with a ticket worth $50K, with the New York Lottery confirming a Broadway retailer sold one of Wednesday night’s five third-prize winners statewide.
Millenium Smoke and News, located at 2345 Broadway in Manhattan, sold the $50,000 winning ticket for the Aug. 12 drawing.
The New York Lottery did not identify the ticket holder or provide details about when the winning ticket was purchased.
The Manhattan ticket was one of five third-prize-winning tickets sold in New York for the drawing.
Another $50,000 ticket was sold at Crosby’s in Medina.
Brooklyn accounted for the other three winners, all of which were sold at 1619 SRS on Avenue U. Those three tickets are worth $50,000 apiece.
Powerball drawings use five white numbers selected from 1 through 69 and one red Powerball selected from a separate field of 1 through 26.
Drawings take place at 10:59 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Proceeds from the New York Lottery help support public education throughout the state.
