Crosby’s in Medina sells one of five third-prize winners from Wednesday’s drawing
MEDINA, NY – A Powerball ticket purchased at a Medina convenience store has delivered a $50K prize, making the Orleans County community home to one of five third-prize-winning tickets sold across New York for Wednesday’s drawing.
The New York Lottery announced that Crosby’s, located at 1425 South Main St. in Medina, sold the $50,000 ticket for the Aug. 12 drawing.
The Lottery did not identify the ticket holder.
Information about when the ticket was purchased or whether the player selected the numbers personally was not provided.
The Medina ticket was one of five third-prize winners sold across New York.
Three $50,000 winning tickets were sold by a single retailer on Avenue U in Brooklyn, while another was purchased at a business on Broadway in Manhattan.
Each of the five tickets carries a $50,000 prize.
Powerball’s five white numbers are drawn from a field of 1 through 69, while the red Powerball is selected from a separate field of 1 through 26.
Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
The New York Lottery directs proceeds toward public education in New York State.
