Wellsville Police say a bench warrant led to the arrest of a 48-year-old Andover woman wanted since she failed to appear in March
WELLSVILLE, NY – A woman facing forgery, larceny, personal identification and child endangerment charges is back in custody more than five months after allegedly failing to appear in Wellsville Village Court, according to Wellsville Police.
Kelley K. Schaad, 48, of Andover, was arrested Friday on a bench warrant issued by Wellsville Village Court.
The warrant stemmed from Schaad’s alleged failure to appear in court on March 3 in connection with previously filed charges.
Those charges include second-degree forgery, petit larceny, unlawful possession of personal identification and endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.
Sheriff’s deputies locate woman in Andover
The Allegany County Sheriff’s Department located Schaad in Andover and took her into custody, police said.
She was then turned over for processing before being transported to the Allegany County Jail.
Police did not provide details about the circumstances surrounding the original allegations or specify when those charges were filed.
Court appearance ahead
Schaad was being held at the Allegany County Jail pending arraignment in centralized arraignment proceedings, commonly referred to as CAP Court.
She is also scheduled to return to Wellsville Village Court at a later date.
The charges against Schaad are accusations, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
