NYPD searching for suspect after 33-year-old victim died from multiple stab wounds
QUEENS, NY – A 33-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the torso, abdomen and back on a Queens street Sunday night before his attacker fled on foot, leaving the victim with wounds that would prove fatal, according to the NYPD.
The deadly attack occurred at approximately 9:25 p.m. in front of 220-20 Merrick Boulevard within the NYPD’s 116th Precinct.
Police said an unidentified individual approached the 33-year-old victim and stabbed him multiple times.
The victim suffered wounds to his torso, abdomen and back.
The attacker then fled the scene on foot and remained unidentified in the information released by NYPD Crime Stoppers.
Emergency medical personnel rushed the wounded man to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The NYPD has classified the case as a homicide and is searching for the person responsible for the killing.
Police did not release the victim’s identity in the information provided.
Investigators also did not disclose a possible motive, describe what may have happened immediately before the stabbing or indicate whether the victim and attacker knew each other.
