HIGHLAND, N.Y. – A Powerball ticket sold at a Hannaford supermarket in Highland scored a $1 million second prize in Monday night’s drawing, the New York Lottery announced Tuesday.

The $1 million-winning ticket was purchased at Hannaford, located at 3650 Route 9W in Bridge View Plaza. The ticket earned Powerball’s second prize for the Aug. 31 drawing.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. The game draws five white-ball numbers from 1 through 69 and a red Powerball from a separate field of 1 through 26.
