SILVER SPRING, Md. – A 36-year-old Maryland man is being held without bond after police accused him of pistol-whipping a victim and stealing his cellphone during an armed robbery outside an apartment in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County Police said Lucas Graves of Bladensburg was arrested Aug. 20 in connection with the July 18 robbery at the Arrive Silver Spring apartments in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue. Officers originally responded around 2:58 p.m. for a report of an assault in progress.

Police Say Victim Was Attacked While Leaving Apartment
Investigators said the victim was leaving his apartment when Graves allegedly approached him and displayed a handgun.
Police allege Graves then “struck the victim multiple times in the head with the gun,” causing the victim to fall to the ground.
According to investigators, Graves took the victim’s cellphone and then pointed the firearm at him.
Police did not provide additional information about the victim’s injuries in the release.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Graves on charges of first-degree assault, armed robbery and other related firearm charges.
Fugitive Task Force Arrests Graves
Graves was arrested Aug. 20 by the United States Marshals Service Capital Area Region Fugitive Task Force, according to Montgomery County Police.
He was then transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
Police said Graves was being held without bond following his arrest.
The allegations against Graves have not been proven in court, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
