New Jersey Movie Theater Opening Friday Night

NORTHFIELD, NJ – An independent movie theater in Northfield, New Jersey is reopening its doors on Friday, June 5th.  The Tilton Square Theater on Tilton Road has announced 7 movies that will be playing on “re-opening night” including, Trolls World Tour, The Way Back, The Invisible Man, The Hunt, Despicable Me (2010), Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986), and The Goonies (1985) (Starts Saturday).

“We are opening our doors to the public tomorrow (Friday, June 5th). We will be strictly enforcing CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of moviegoers and our staff. Our theatres will be limited to 30% capacity. Please wear a mask inside our lobby,” the theater said. “You will be permitted to take your mask off once you arrive at your seat. If you feel sick or uncomfortable about being in public places, please stay at home. We will save a seat for you. Tickets for all of our movies will be $6 and will go on sale tonight at 8pm.”

The theater also said families and groups that arrive together may sit together and they will be distancing groups six feet apart

“One frequently asked question we have been getting is “Can I sit together with my family and friends or do we have to be spaced out in the theatre?” the theater said. “Short answer is YES! Groups that come in together can sit together. We will be spacing groups at least 6 feet away from one another. Our theatres will also be limited to 30% capacity.”

To comply with CDC guidelines, the following rules and recommendations are in effect:

• Strict handwashing and hand sanitizing practices for employees as well as strong procedures and practices to clean and sanitize surfaces. Employees will be required to wear masks and gloves and adhere to physical spacing guidelines. Sneeze guards will be installed at concession.

• Customers will be required to physically space 6 feet while waiting in line for tickets or concessions.

• Theatre seating will be spaced 6 feet from one another. Theatre chairs will be sanitized before and after each movie showing. Theatres will be deep cleaned nightly. Theatre HVAC system includes HEPA filters.

• Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the concession and hallways for easy access by customers and employees alike.

•Signage will be posted at the entrance that states no one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19 is to be permitted into the theatre.
