COLMUBIA, MD – Howard County Police offer up to $5,000 reward for information in Oct. 4 fatal shooting. Howard County police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information in a fatal shooting that occurred Oct. 4 in Columbia. Officers were called to the 9600 block of Basket Ring Road at approximately 2:37 p.m. for a report that a subject had been shot outside a residence. Juan Michael Ross, 23, of Jessup, was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives are looking into the possibility the incident may have been drug-related, and whether the involved parties were known to one another. The investigation is ongoing.
