Joe and Jill Biden Look Like Giants in Awkward Photo with the Carters

The photo above was published by the Carter Center this weekend after President Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill visited the home of former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn.

The photo is being both adored and scrutinized today across social media today. The picture has caught the attention of many who say the Bidens look huge next to the Carters. Some have commented that it even looks like Joe Biden is holding a puppet of Rosalynn Carter on his lap.

“Gandalf in hobbit house,” one Reddit user joked.

“Reminds me of the North Pole scenes in Elf,” another commented.

While it looks like a scene out of a movie involving elves, there could be a more reasonable explanation. Since the room was small, the photographer may have used a wide-angle lens that distorted the side of the Bidens. It could also be that the Carters are very tiny people and the Bidens are very tall.

In his prime, Jimmy Carter was 5′ 10″. Joe Biden in his prime was 6’0″

Fortunately, the internet has an auto-correct.
