Columbus murder suspect arrested

On June 23, 2021, at 11:03pm, officers were dispatched to the area of E. 11th Ave. & Cleveland Ave. on the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and were directed to 849 E. 11th Ave. where they found the victim, 29-year-old James Hayden, suffering from a gunshot wound.

On June 29, 2021, at approximately 2:15pm, Columbus Police SWAT Unit officers located & arrested 22yo Adam T. Manns in the 4700 block of E. Livingston Ave.

Hayden was transported to Grant Medical Center with critical life threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 11:39pm.

Witnesses stated there was a verbal confrontation inside the location, when the victim left the store, words were again exchanged. The suspect, 22-year-old Adam Manns, got into the passenger seat of a white 4-door vehicle and as it left the lot, witnesses stated the suspect fired several rounds from a handgun which struck the victim.
