Maryland Man Sought for Discharging Gun in Newark on Fourth of July

NEWARK, NJ (PRESS RELEASE) – Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Bravo Abendigo, also known as Bendy Cooper, 39, of Brandywine, MD, in connection with the discharge of a weapon on Monday, July 4, 2022.

Police responded to the 100 block of Dewey Street on a call of a firearm discharge. Detectives investigating this incident have identified Bravo Abendigo as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest. A warrant was also obtained for Abendigo’s arrest regarding CDS offenses. He is described as 6-ft. tall and 140 pounds. He has a medium brown complexion, black hair, and brown eyes.
