25-Year-Old Charged for Murder in Baltimore

Baltimore, MD- a 25-year-old Baltimore man, was charged with the murder of 38-year-old Delaney Simmons, who was found lying in an alleyway on the 2300 block of Ashton Street on August 28th.

According to police, at approximately 12:39 a.m., Southwest District patrol officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Bentlaou Street to investigate a reported shooting.

“When officers arrived at the location, they observed 38-year-old Delaney Simmons lying in an alleyway adjacent to the 2300 block of Ashton Street, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and pronounced dead by medical personnel after succumbing to his injuries,” police said.

Through the course of their investigation, Homicide detectives were able to identify a suspect.

On August 26, 2022, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Kamar Damonte Williams.

Williams was arrested and formally charged with 1st Degree Murder. Kamar Damonte Williams is currently being held at the Baltimore City Central Booking Intake Facility.
