Fall is here. Soon the lush green leaves across the Garden State will turn into a beautiful bouquet of colors. Reds, yellows and oranges will dominate the landscape, creating picturesque views across the state. There are quite a few places where you can get a great view of the fall foliage in New Jersey as that time nears…and it’s coming soon.

Some trees have begun to turn in New Jersey, but the main event starts in early to mid-October.

Delaware Water Gap

One of the most exhilarating locations is the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which is pictured in the photo above. You can see foliage for miles around, with the Delaware River rushing through.

You can literally drive up to any spot along the length of the Delaware River and watch the rush by as you’re surrounded by a sea of autumn brightness, looking out across a picturesque river with a bright-colored backdrop on the other side of the river.

There are many beautiful vistas around High Point State Park where you can take in breathtaking fall scenery for miles around.

PATERSON FALLS

The fall foliage that surrounds the Paterson Falls in Paterson, New Jersey is breathtaking, but you have to get there at the right time. After visiting the falls, take a trek up the nearby Garret Mountain preservation to see exhilarating views of North Jersey from atop one of the highest points in the area.
