Sports commentator Jim Rome lashed out with harsh words directed at millions of marching band members across America.
“Is there anyone not in a marching band who thinks those dorks running around with their instruments are cool,” he tweeted on New Years Day.
After some public outcry about his comments from America’s “Band Nation”, Rome removed the post and offered an apology.
“Band nation – I hear you. I was out of line. I apologize. I do not condone bullying of any kind and that was not my intent,” he wrote.
Band members nationwide took to #MarchOnRome to fight back.
