Suspect arrested after standoff with police in holmdel — Wall Township Police

HOLMDEL, NJ – A Holmdel man was arrested after a lengthy standoff with police on Saturday. Police arrested 46-year-old Brian Piscopo on multiple charges, including terroristic threats, aggravated assault, weapons charges and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police arrived at a home in Pine Valley Court to find Piscopo had barricaded himself inside his home.

Officers were called in regards to a prior domestic dispute. When police arrived the child that witnessed that dispute had already vacated the home.

The dispute was reported by a member of the residence who appeared at the police station.

“Approximately an hour after arrival at the residence, a request for assistance was made for the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team (MOCERT), along with members of the Monmouth County Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. Communication with Piscopo was subsequently established and maintained. During the incident, local roads were closed and several homes were safely evacuated by the officers on scene as a precaution,” the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office reported. “Following lengthy negotiations, Piscopo was taken into custody shortly after 3 a.m. this morning, Sunday, after which he was immediately taken to a local medical facility for evaluation”.

Piscopo was subsequently transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute (MCCI), where he is currently being held pending his first appearance at the Monmouth County Superior Court.
