Thief flees with air quality testing station inside NYC subway station

NEW YORK, NY – A portable biological and radiological air sample station inside the Roosevelt Avenue subway station in Queens was stolen by an unidentified man on Saturday.

The station, used to monitor potentially harmful particles in the air in the case of a terrorist attack, was taken, and the act was caught on video surveillance cameras.

According to police in the 110th Precinct, at around 4:15 am on Saturday, the man = entered the Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights subway station and removed a Department of Homeland Security air sample machine from the station platform.

He boarded a northbound F train with the device and fled to parts unknown.

Police described the individual is described as a male with short dark hair, a light complexion, and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a green camouflage jacket with the American flag on the back and blue pants.
