Evesham Lowers Speed Limit in Kings Grant Neighborhood to Increase Pedestrian Safety

EVESHAM, NJ – Residents of Kings Grant neighborhood will see a change in their daily commute as the local agency lowers the speed limit on Kings Grant Drive and Crown Royal Parkway from 40mph to 35mph. The decision was made following a traffic study by the agency and a review by an outside engineering firm, in response to residents’ complaints about speeding in the area.

While the study found that vehicle speeds were not excessive, the recommendation from the engineering firm was to lower the speed limit due to heavy pedestrian traffic and sightline issues.

The agency hopes that the new speed limit will increase pedestrian safety in the area.

Effective May 17th, 2023, the new speed limit will be in effect with a driver education period until July 26th, 2023. After that date, the new speed limit will be enforced. The agency is encouraging compliance with the new speed limit to increase both pedestrian and vehicle safety in the area.

Residents are advised to be aware of the new speed limit and to adjust their driving accordingly. The agency hopes that this change will bring about positive results and increase safety for all those traveling in Kings Grant neighborhood.
