Man shot outside corner store in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY – Gunfire in Rochester ended with a male victim being shot Thursday night. The Rochester Police Department confirmed the incident, which reportedly took place at a corner store located at the intersection of Union & Weld Street at around 10:15 pm.

The victim was identified as a man in his twenties.

First responders arrived to find the man bleeding heavily and applied a tourniquet to the victim to control the bleeding. The RPD has not released further details about the victim’s current condition.

After being shot the victim traveled to Alexander Street where he was found by police.

RPD personnel were on the scene at North Union, where the incident occurred. They discovered multiple bullet casings, a vehicle showing evidence of gunfire, and a small handgun inside the vehicle.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
