LYNDHURST, NJ – Robert Condit of Lyndhurst, NJ, has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and aggravated arson connected to a 21-hour standoff with law enforcement that began on May 3, 2022. The announcement was made by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella on Monday.
Condit barricaded himself in his home after a court hearing ordering him to surrender his weapons.
He discharged a flamethrower at the Bergen County Regional SWAT team and aimed a rifle at a SWAT vehicle.
The surrounding neighborhood was under lockdown for nearly a day. Condit’s sentencing is scheduled for June 30, 2023.
