59-year-old attacked with scooter inside NYC subway station

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is investigating an assault incident that occurred on Sunday, at approximately 1:10 pm at the Midland Parkway and Hillside Avenue subway station (“F”) line.

A 59-year-old man was asked by an unidentified male to open the exit gate to bypass the fare. Upon the victim’s refusal, the suspect struck him in the head with a scooter and fled the scene. The victim was transported by EMS to Queens Presbyterian Hospital with a laceration to the left back side of his head.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 18 to 20 years old, 5’6″ tall, weighing about 120 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair and was last seen wearing a black vest, light-colored sweater, black sweat pants, red sneakers, carrying a blue and black book bag and riding a scooter.
