LAUREL, MD – Just before the stroke of midnight on Wednesday, Western District officers flagged a vehicle in the Laurel area for violation of motor vehicle law.
The area of concern was Laurel Ft. Meade Road and Old Annapolis Road.
During the investigation, officers uncovered further violations by both the driver and the vehicle. This led to the removal of the vehicle from the road.
A search prior to towing revealed the presence of a short-barreled rifle with a suppressor and a semi-automatic handgun with two high-capacity magazines in the passenger compartment.
The driver, Philipp Isaula, a 29-year-old from Glen Burnie, Maryland, was subsequently arrested and charged.
