PHILADELPHIA, PA – A series of violent events occurred over the weekend in Philadelphia, leaving at least nine people injured.
On Sunday afternoon, a 36-year-old man was found stabbed in the head at Smith Playground in South Philadelphia. He was promptly transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition. The Police Department did not provide further details regarding this incident.
Earlier that day, at an unlicensed club in Frankford, two men aged 25 and 32 were injured in a shooting. Both men suffered gunshot wounds to their legs and were taken to Nazareth Hospital. Both are expected to recover. In Kensington and Hunting Park, two separate stabbing incidents left two men wounded. While a 38-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in Kensington, another man, aged between 40 and 50, was listed in stable condition after being attacked in Hunting Park.
On Saturday, in Feltonville, a 17-year-old boy was treated at Episcopal Hospital for a gunshot wound to his thigh. That same night in Olney, officers found two 25-year-old men with gunshot wounds, one injured in the thigh and the other in the foot. Both men are currently in stable condition.
Additionally, a 19-year-old male sought treatment at Einstein Medical Center with a gunshot injury. The circumstances surrounding his shooting remain uncertain.
