Horizon Juvenile Center Worker Defrauded City by Padding Hours

BRONX, NY – An Administration for Children’s Services employee at Horizon Juvenile Center faces charges of Grand Larceny.

Michael Derico, 44, from the Bronx, is accused of lying about his work hours, defrauding the city of $6,600.

District Attorney Darcel D. Clark mentioned that Derico allegedly claimed pay for nine full shifts and various additional hours he did not work.

Derico was responsible for delivering commissary items to residents and overseeing behavioral issues at the center.

The defendant will appear in court on September 7.
