SHREVEPORT, LA – Demetrius Demontrae Richmond, 26, of Bossier City, was sentenced today to 51 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine. United States District Judge Elizabeth E. Foote issued the sentencing.
Court information shows that Richmond began procuring cocaine and crack cocaine from an individual in January 2020. He would then sell the narcotics at various locations in Shreveport. Richmond acknowledged his involvement in the distribution of at least 267 grams of powder cocaine and 72 grams of crack cocaine.
The case was investigated by multiple agencies including the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Prosecution was carried out by Assistant United States Attorney Jessica D. Cassidy.
This conviction is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level drug trafficking, money laundering, and organized crime networks. The multi-agency effort is prosecutor-led and uses an intelligence-driven approach to target criminal organizations.
