HS ICE HOCKEY: Toms River North and Southern Regional Tie 2-2

The Toms RIver North High School hockey team held a 2-0 lead deep into the third period Monday, but Southern Regional scored two late goals and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

The Mariners took a 1-0 lead with less than a minute left in the first period when Ryan Dineen scored with an assist from Nick Pica. Pica got his second assist of the game when Shea Bontempo scored in the second period to put Toms River North ahead by two goals.

Matt Scalvino scored for Southern Regional with 5:14 left in the third period and Tyler Golomb tied the game three minutes later.
