Saltsburg Man Convicted on Multiple Charges While Resisting Arrest

by Ryan Dickinson

GREENSBURG, PA – Ray Shetler of Saltsburg was found guilty on Friday, after a three-day trial overseen by Common Pleas Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio.

The charges against Shetler stemmed from an incident in December of 2021. The charges include one count of aggravated assault, disarming of a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest.

Shetler had previously evaded a probation hearing in December 2021, leading officers from the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office and Pennsylvania State Police to his location on Shrum Hill Road.

Upon their arrival, Shetler resisted arrest, injuring an officer in the process.

Following the trial, Judge Bilik-DeFazio revoked Shetler’s bond, and he now awaits sentencing.
