NEW YORK, NY – Four Republican members of New York’s congressional delegation are calling on New York City Comptroller Brad Lander to resign over his senior adviser’s views on Israel and his own affiliation with an organization critical of the country. The calls for resignation are amplified by the adviser’s previous collaboration with a group linked to Hamas.
Brad Lander employs Naomi Dann as a senior adviser. Dann previously collaborated with the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, a group with ties to Hamas, while working at Jewish Voice for Peace. She was also arrested at a 2014 pro-Palestinian protest in New York City.
Lander is affiliated with Jews For Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ), an organization that released statements critical of Israel following the Oct. 7 terror attacks by Hamas.
Reps. Marc Molinaro and Brandon Williams specifically called for Lander to resign. “We have to root out anti-Israel leadership in New York State—political leaders must be firm in their support for the Israeli people and condemn the actions of Hamas and affiliated groups,” Williams said.
“It’s especially disgraceful considering they represent thousands of Jews living in New York City. Put your extreme politics aside or step down,” Molinaro said in an interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation
