Man Shot Multiple Times, Dead In D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A fatal shooting incident is under investigation by detectives from the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department following the death of a local man early Wednesday morning.

Officers from the Sixth District were dispatched to the scene at the 3900 block of Southern Avenue in Southeast after reports of gunfire were received at around 3:19 a.m. The responding officers discovered a male victim suffering from bullet wounds. The injured man was promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Julius McRee, 36, a resident of Southeast, D.C.
