Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash in Shady Side Under Investigation

SHADY SIDE, MD – A motor vehicle accident occurred on Sunday, at the intersection of Shady Side Road and Deep Cove Road.

A 2022 Toyota Rav4, driven by Jason Jose Solano, 24, of Rockville, veered off the road, resulting in fatal injuries to both Solano and his passenger, Christian Alvarado, 27, of Lanham.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 11:10 a.m.

They found the vehicle had collided with a drainage ditch, a fence, and a BGE pole. The Traffic Safety Section is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
