MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A fatal vehicle collision in Montgomery County is currently being investigated by the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) of the Montgomery County Department of Police.
The incident occurred last Sunday, at 12:32 p.m. near the intersection of Arcola Ave. and University Blvd.
W. Peter Kostas Axarlis, a 43-year-old from Rockville, was driving a silver 2020 GMC Sierra when he veered off the road and collided with multiple trees. Axarlis was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CRU is actively investigating the cause of the accident.
The department asks anyone with information related to the collision to contact CRU detectives.
