Arrest in Maplewood for Possession of Stolen Vehicle

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Police officers in Maplewood arrested Nika Khatiashvili, a 29-year-old Brooklyn resident, on November 26, following an investigation into a suspicious vehicle. Officers Beischer and Marto responded to a call at the intersection of Hillcrest Rd and Peachtree Rd, where they found Khatiashvili in a silver 2016 Volkswagen Passat.

The investigation revealed that the car’s Florida registration was false and that the vehicle had been reported stolen. Khatiashvili faces charges including Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle. Additional summonses were issued for an Open Container in a Motor Vehicle and Fictitious Plates.
