DURHAM, N.C. – A fatal shooting occurred early Sunday morning in Durham, as reported by the Durham Police Department. The incident was initially detected through a ShotSpotter alert in the 600 block of Troy Street shortly after 6 a.m.
Responding officers discovered 65-year-old Darryl Keith Harris, who had sustained gunshot wounds. Harris was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The shooting occurred in proximity to Durham Technical Community College.
The Durham Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. As of now, no further details have been released regarding potential suspects or motives.
