Toms River Honors First Responders for Heroism After Boy Injured by Drunk Driver

TOMS RIVER, NJ – In a heartwarming ceremony on Tuesday night, Toms River’s Mayor and Council honored first responders for their exceptional bravery and quick action in saving the life of Matthew Roszkowski following a severe accident last March. The commendation was held in recognition of the efforts of Toms River Fire Dept., Company #1, Toms River Fire Company 2, Silverton EMS, Toms River Police Department, and Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics.

Roszkowski, who miraculously made a full recovery just nine months after the head-on collision with an impaired driver, attended the ceremony with his family. In a touching gesture, the Roszkowskis presented each responding organization with a plaque, expressing their profound appreciation and gratitude for the life-saving assistance they received.
