COLUMBIA, MD — A Howard County man, a longtime enthusiast of Maryland Lottery’s Multi-Match game, won a substantial $620,000 jackpot in the December 7 drawing. Previously, his winnings never exceeded a few hundred dollars. The Columbia resident purchased his winning tickets from Royal Farms #054 in Elkridge, opting for a combination of quick-pick and personal numbers.

Upon checking his ticket through the Lottery app, he repeatedly received a message to consult a retailer. Only after verifying the winning numbers did he realize he had matched all six on one line. Despite confirming the win with his wife, the reality of the jackpot has yet to fully set in for him.

The winner expressed uncertainty about how he will utilize the entire windfall. He plans charitable donations and providing financial assistance to family members. The remaining funds’ allocation remains undecided.

Royal Farms #054, the selling location of the winning ticket, is awarded a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery. The latest win marks the 10th Multi-Match jackpot of the year, following a previous $500,000 win in Seabrook on October 23. The game witnessed six jackpot wins in 2022 and five in 2021.
