BALTIMORE, MD – Major Jennifer McGrath of the Baltimore Police Department faces charges of electronic communication harassment. The charges, as detailed in a statement of charges, accuse McGrath, a veteran with over twenty years in the force, of sending a series of cruel and harassing text messages to her romantic partner’s ex-wife.
The charges against McGrath include one misdemeanor count of electronic communication harassment. This count alleges that McGrath engaged in a course of conduct through electronic communication that seriously annoyed the victim, identified only as [redacted] in records, with the intent to harass her. This was despite receiving a reasonable request to stop.
According to the alleged victim, the harassment began in late November of the previous year. McGrath is said to have taunted the victim over the custody of her children and resorted to derogatory name-calling. She allegedly told the victim that her ex had “moved on with better” and warned that she would “never see [your] children again.”
