NEW ROCHELLE, NY — On March 1, at approximately 7:50 PM, the New Rochelle Police Department was alerted to an altercation at the New Roc City Burger King, located at 33 LeCount Place.
The incident escalated to gunfire outside the restaurant, with officers discovering 9mm shell casings on the sidewalk.
Witnesses observed several groups fleeing the scene. New Rochelle Detectives apprehended the shooting suspect a few blocks away following a brief foot chase.
The suspect, a 17-year-old male from the Bronx, was found with a Taurus 9mm handgun and has been charged. The altercation began inside the restaurant between two groups of males, leading to the suspect sustaining a laceration and discharging several rounds as the groups dispersed. Currently, there are no reports of injuries from the gunfire.
