WASHINGTON, DC – Three teenagers were arrested by members of the Metropolitan Police Department for their involvement in an armed carjacking incident, thanks to the quick action of MPD’s Air Support Unit helicopter, Falcon.

On March 14, at approximately 6:07 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Lamont Street NW following a report of an armed carjacking. The victim reported being in his car when one suspect brandished a firearm and demanded he exit the vehicle. A second assailant instructed the victim to remove his child from the car before the suspects fled with it.

The stolen vehicle, carrying three individuals, was located less than 15 minutes later by the MPD helicopter. The Robbery Suppression Unit was promptly notified of the location, leading to the arrest of all three suspects and the recovery of a firearm.

The suspects, two 15-year-old males from Northeast and a 14-year-old male from Southeast, have been charged with Armed Carjacking.
