DELTONA, FL – A 16-year-old has been arrested following a violent incident on Thursday evening in Deltona, involving a group of juveniles. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a gunshot fired during a confrontation at the intersection of Normandy Boulevard and Merrimac Street.
Witnesses observed a suspect fleeing the scene, leading deputies to a quick pursuit and the discovery of a discarded ski mask, hoodie, and a Coach bag containing a 9mm handgun. The investigation identified Marcel Serrano, born on December 27, 2007, as the individual who pistol-whipped a 14-year-old and discharged a firearm during the altercation.
Marcel faces charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence, following the recovery of the weapon and a shell casing linked to the incident.
