New Jersey State Troopers Restore Memorial for Fallen Trooper Thomas Hanratty

by Breaking Local News Report

SOMERVILLE, NJ – In a solemn tribute to their fallen colleague, members of the 165th New Jersey State Police Class, graduates since August, have revitalized the memorial for Trooper Thomas Hanratty on Interstate 78 in Union County.

The restoration comes ahead of the 32nd anniversary of the tragic incident on April 2, 1992, when Trooper Hanratty was fatally struck by a vehicle as he returned to his patrol car during a traffic stop. The memorial, standing at the exact location of the accident, serves as a poignant reminder of his sacrifice.

The New Jersey State Police vows to keep his memory alive for generations to come.
