Search Underway for Gun Assault Suspect in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The D.C. Metro Police Department’s First District is on the search for 41-year-old Kevin Snead, following an assault with a dangerous weapon incident that occurred in Southeast, Washington, D.C.

On the evening of Wednesday, April 3, at 8:45 p.m., police were called to the 1500 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast, after reports of gunfire. Arriving officers found a vehicle that bullets had hit, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. Investigations indicated that Snead had fired a handgun towards the victims before making his escape.

Kevin Snead, with ties to both Southeast, D.C., and Jumping Branch, WV, is the subject of a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). He is known to drive a black Ford Mustang with West Virginia license plate N3X894, images of which have been released by the police.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kevin Snead or his vehicle to contact the police at 202-727-9099. Information can also be shared anonymously through the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by texting to 50411.
