Search Underway for Gun Assault Suspect in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C.The D.C. Metro Police Department’s First District is on the search for 41-year-old Kevin Snead, following an assault with a dangerous weapon incident that occurred in Southeast, Washington, D.C.

On the evening of Wednesday, April 3, at 8:45 p.m., police were called to the 1500 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast, after reports of gunfire. Arriving officers found a vehicle that bullets had hit, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. Investigations indicated that Snead had fired a handgun towards the victims before making his escape.

Kevin Snead, with ties to both Southeast, D.C., and Jumping Branch, WV, is the subject of a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). He is known to drive a black Ford Mustang with West Virginia license plate N3X894, images of which have been released by the police.
