Harford County Detectives Investigate Early Morning Stabbing in Edgewood

EDGEWOOD, MD – The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a stabbing incident that took place in the early hours of April 9, 2024, in Edgewood, MD. Authorities responded to a call around 12:46 a.m. in the 2500 block of Hanson Road, where they discovered 41-year-old Gregory Leon Keels with multiple stab wounds.

Immediate life-saving efforts were initiated by the deputies on the scene, with medics continuing treatment before transporting Keels to a local trauma center for further care. The investigation has been taken over by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, with detectives canvassing the Hanson Road area for potential witnesses and evidence. The Forensic Services Unit is also involved, focusing on collecting and preserving physical evidence pertinent to the case.

Initial findings by detectives suggest that the stabbing was an isolated incident, posing no ongoing threat to the community. Investigations are ongoing to determine the suspects and the motive behind the stabbing.
