NEW YORK CITY, NY—The New York City Police Department is asking the community for help identifying a suspect involved in a series of robberies in the 9th, 25th, and 26th Precincts. The suspect is linked to three incidents between April 3 and April 5, 2024, targeting convenience stores and a restaurant.
The first robbery occurred on April 3, 2024, at the 7-Eleven on 2256 2nd Avenue, where the suspect brandished a black firearm and demanded cash, escaping with around $200. The following day, the Essex Card Shop at 47 Avenue A was hit, with the suspect employing similar tactics to flee with another $200. The spree escalated on April 5, when the individual targeted a Subway Restaurant on 281 Saint Nicholas Avenue, this time netting approximately $1,500. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
Authorities describe the suspect as a 40-year-old male with a dark complexion and a medium build. His attire during the incidents included a gray jacket, grey sweatpants, blue Jordan 11 sneakers, a blue NY Yankee hat, and a blue face mask.
The NYPD is urging anyone with information regarding these robberies or the suspect’s identity to come forward to assist in the investigation. The police department’s appeal emphasizes the importance of community cooperation to ensure the safety and security of local businesses and residents.
