The Montgomery County resident purchased his lucky $5 ticket at a 7-Eleven located at 8472 Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. The winning moment came swiftly as he used the Maryland Lottery app to scan the ticket in the store and discovered his hefty win.

Overjoyed with his fortune, he immediately called his mom to share the good news. While he plans to keep a low profile, the winner intends to deposit most of the money into his savings but is also considering a trip to Atlantic City and purchasing a special gift for his mom. The 7-Eleven store that sold the winning ticket will receive a bonus of $577.77 from the Lottery. Winning 7s, which debuted in November 2023, still has two of its top-tier $57,777 prizes up for grabs and is currently ranked No. 17 on the Lottery’s chart of Top 40 Scratch-Offs.
