Hackensack police are looking into a carjacking incident that occurred in the early hours of Monday. A 43-year-old man from New York reported to authorities that he was carjacked by four male robbers who forcibly took several belongings and his 2018 Land Rover outside a Wawa on South River Street around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, according to Capt. Michael Batista.
The incident took place across from the ShopRite plaza. No injuries were sustained during the carjacking, and detailed descriptions of the suspects were not provided.
As the investigation unfolds, city detectives are examining surveillance footage from the area in hopes of identifying the perpetrators. Hackensack Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses any information to come forward.
