Man Indicted for Attempted Murder of NYPD Officer at Fordham Subway Station

BRONX, NY – Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark has announced the indictment of Librado Victoriano, 34, on multiple charges including Attempted Murder, after he allegedly tried to push a NYPD Transit Police Officer onto subway tracks. The incident occurred at the Fordham D train station as a train was approaching.

The ordeal unfolded on Thursday, April 4, at around 9 PM, when Officer Joseph DeMaio and Sergeant Damion Knights of Transit District 11 noticed Victoriano walking on the northbound tracks. While escorting him from the station, Victoriano allegedly shoved Officer DeMaio towards the tracks with his shoulder, causing the officer to lose balance. Fortunately, Officer DeMaio regained his footing and was unharmed.

Victoriano faces several charges, including Attempted Aggravated Murder, Attempted Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, multiple degrees of Attempted Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Criminal Trespass, and Trespass. He was arraigned before Bronx Supreme Court Justice Brenda Rivera, with bail set at $500,000 cash or $1.5 million bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 16.
