Allentown drug raid uncovers AK47 stash and stolen gun

Allentown, PA – A pre-dawn search warrant executed Friday morning on West Court Street led to the seizure of multiple firearms, narcotics, and cash, culminating in felony charges against a 20-year-old city resident, authorities said.

At approximately 6:15 a.m., detectives from the Allentown Police Vice and Intelligence Unit, assisted by the Emergency Response Team and Patrol Division, conducted a search warrant in the 200 block of West Court Street.

Inside the residence, officers located an AK-47 style rifle equipped with a drum magazine, several high-capacity magazines, a stolen .38 caliber revolver, a .357 caliber revolver, and two 9mm semi-automatic handguns. A ballistic vest was also recovered.

Investigators reported seizing approximately 340 grams of marijuana, 141 THC cartridges, five jars of THC, Xanax pills, seven grams of cocaine, and $1,186 in U.S. currency during the operation.

Police identified the suspect as Ryan Cruz-Pineiro, 20, of Allentown.

Charges filed in Allentown narcotics case

Cruz-Pineiro has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, receiving stolen property, and unlawful body armor, all felonies. He also faces three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Allentown Police.

Authorities stated that one of the firearms recovered was reported stolen.

The investigation was conducted by the department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit as part of an ongoing effort targeting illegal narcotics distribution and weapons possession in the city. Additional details about the seized West Court Street residence were not released.
