A two-month investigation into the suspicious death of 28-year-old Rosanna Kinsinger of Pomeroy, Ohio has led to murder charges against a local man, the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday. Samuel Hochstetler was arrested Monday following an interview with detectives and is currently being held at the Gallia County Jail.
On March 13, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious death on Dye Road in Rutland, Ohio. The Meigs County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene, and the body of Ms. Kinsinger was later transported to Montgomery County for an autopsy. Preliminary results were inconclusive, prompting a wider investigation by the sheriff’s office.
In the weeks following, detectives executed search warrants, conducted multiple interviews, and processed physical evidence from the scene. The investigation led authorities to identify Hochstetler as a person of interest. He was detained on Monday and arrested shortly after being questioned.
Her body was found in her home with her goat, according to police, where Hochstetler left her.
