Angry neighbor shoots three at birthday party in Miami

Miami, FL – A 75-year-old woman celebrating her birthday was shot during a family party in Miami. Angelo Garcia, 38, allegedly opened fire after confronting one of the guests about a dispute.

The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday morning as a birthday celebration took place at a residence. Garcia questioned a victim about the location of another person he believed had offended him before the violence erupted.

Surveillance video captured Garcia speaking with the victims in the front yard prior to the shooting. Witnesses reported that he began throwing rocks at parked cars before firing shots.

Three people were struck in the attack, including the woman, her 53-year-old son, and a 26-year-old man. All three were taken to a local hospital, where the son and the younger man were reported to be in serious condition.

Garcia fled the scene but was later arrested by law enforcement at The Comfort Suites Miami-Kendall on Saturday morning. Officers forced entry into the hotel room where he was hiding.

A hotel patron reported hearing multiple loud bangs just before he learned of the arrest.

In total, Garcia faces several charges, including four counts of second-degree attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unlawful discharge of a firearm in a residential area. He remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
